Dedicated employee support through loss, grief, and traumatic circumstances.

We will all experience loss or trauma at different stages of life. It may occur suddenly, unexpectedly, and while we also have significant ongoing work responsibilities.

Despite the human universality of loss and trauma, many employees feel uncomfortable discussing intense personal issues in the workplace, and it can be extremely challenging for employers to manage them effectively. Yet the right support is critical to the employee’s wellbeing, recovery, and long-term engagement at work.

Our trauma, loss and bereavement services are delivered by trained Counsellors qualified EMDR trauma therapists. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a well-established, evidence-based therapy used to aid recovery from trauma, shock, and overwhelming life events.

What circumstances do these services cover?

Our trauma, loss and bereavement support services are designed to meet each employee where they are.  They include support with (for example):

  • Bereavement following the death of a loved one

  • Pregnancy loss, miscarriage, stillbirth and baby loss

  • Sudden or traumatic loss

  • Accidents

  • Life-altering events

  • Workplace-related trauma or critical incidents

  • Anticipatory grief and complex grief responses

Our expert services are tailored to the individual needs and circumstances of each employee, which may vary or differ from the examples listed here.

How are these services delivered?

These clinically-informed trauma, loss and bereavement services support employees whenever, wherever and however they work – across time zones and inclusive of different working arrangements (such as on-site or remote). They may be delivered while the employee is on leave.

In all cases, no personal or clinical employee details will be shared with the employer, although HR (or equivalent management) will receive anonymised and high-level insights to inform their own approach.

We also have the qualifications, experience and practical ability to scale and adapt our services as your organisation grows, or as policy requirements change.

Each of our Beyond EAP services and coaching programmes follow strict codes of practice, including confidentiality and data protection, in compliance with relevant data privacy regulations.

Trauma, loss and bereavement services can be combined with parental coaching and support and/or post-diagnosis health coaching as individually necessary and appropriate.  For further information, please contact us.

We work in collaborative, compassionate partnerships to aid safe, sustainable and successful returns to work.

Where appropriate, we will work closely with the employer and Occupational Health teams to support a safe, compassionate and sustainable return-to-work plan for the employee.  This approach aligns their emotional recovery with workplace considerations and responsibilities, to reduce disruption and support long-term wellbeing.

From a wider workplace perspective, companies that offer specialist trauma, loss and bereavement support show compassionate and responsible leadership.  This both promotes employee engagement and cultivates a valuable external reputation as an employer of choice.
