Support during life’s most emotionally demanding experiences

Grief, trauma, and emotional overwhelm can affect every area of a person’s life — including their ability to function, cope, communicate, and engage at work. At Beyond EAP, we provide clinically informed therapeutic support for employees navigating some of life’s most challenging experiences. We support organisations when situations require more than general wellbeing provision alone — helping employees feel emotionally supported, stabilised, and better able to move forward, and appropriately supported.

What we support

Our trauma and bereavement support includes:

  • Bereavement and grief

  • Pregnancy and baby loss

  • Sudden or traumatic death

  • Trauma and critical incidents

  • Emotional overwhelm and burnout

  • Anxiety and low mood

  • Workplace trauma or distressing events

  • Serious family crises

  • Addiction and rehabilitation support

  • Highly stressful life events

  • Support following shocking or life-altering experiences

What this support helps with

Our work helps employees:

  • process grief and traumatic experiences safely,

  • stabilise during periods of emotional overwhelm,

  • manage anxiety and distress,

  • regain confidence and functioning,

  • navigate difficult workplace conversations,

  • process fear, shock, or identity disruption,

  • and return to work in a more supported and sustainable way.

Our approach

Support is delivered by qualified counsellors and EMDR trauma therapists, alongside specialist workplace-aware coaches. Our approach combines:

  • emotional safety,

  • therapeutic expertise,

  • trauma-informed practice,

  • practical coping strategies,

  • and workplace understanding.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a clinically recognised therapeutic approach used to help individuals process trauma and distressing experiences more effectively. We recognise that trauma and grief do not follow timelines — and that every employee’s experience is unique.

When organisations typically refer to us

Organisations often engage us when:

  • an employee is struggling following bereavement

  • trauma or crisis is impacting functioning

  • a critical incident has occurred

  • emotional overwhelm or burnout is becoming unmanageable

  • a team has experienced sudden loss or distress

  • situations require greater continuity and depth than standard wellbeing provision alone

Why specialist support matters here

Some experiences cannot be safely or effectively supported through generic, short-term wellbeing intervention alone.

Trauma, grief, and emotional distress often require:

  • continuity,

  • specialist expertise,

  • emotional safety,

  • and workplace-aware understanding.

How organisations respond during these moments can profoundly affect:

  • trust,

  • psychological safety,

  • retention,

  • confidence,

  • culture,

  • and long-term employee wellbeing.

Employees rarely forget how they were treated during the hardest chapter of their life.

Supporting organisations alongside employees

Alongside 1:1 employee support, we also help organisations navigate:

  • complex employee situations,

  • critical incidents,

  • psychologically safe responses,

  • communication challenges,

  • and sustainable return-to-work planning.

We provide discreet, theme-based HR updates while maintaining employee confidentiality and trust.

Human support during human crisis

At Beyond EAP, we believe workplace wellbeing is not truly tested when life is easy. It is tested during the moments nobody hoped would happen.

And those moments require support that is:

  • calm,

  • specialist,

  • compassionate,

  • experienced,

  • and deeply human.
