As we approach the end of the year, I’ve been reflecting on the unexpected journey the past twelve months have taken — both personally and professionally. It’s remarkable how a full year can pass, and when you step back for a moment, you realise something important: the world keeps moving, life keeps unfolding, and sometimes stepping away is exactly what’s needed.
Earlier this year, an unexpected health challenge required me to slow down in ways I never had before. It shifted my pace, disrupted my routines, and forced me to adopt new ways of caring for myself. And while it was difficult, it also offered something invaluable: clarity.
When life pauses you — abruptly and without warning — it invites you to look closely at what matters most, what can fall away, and what deserves your attention moving forward. This year became a time of recalibration, healing, and reflection on how I want to show up in my work and in our wider community.
A few truths from this season have stayed with me:
Slowing down isn’t the same as stepping back.
Recovery isn’t linear.
And sometimes the quiet chapters shape us the most.
As I’ve gradually returned to working full-time, I’ve come back with a different kind of steadiness — a healthier rhythm, a clearer mind, and a renewed sense of purpose that feels grounded and intentional.
In the months ahead, I’ll be sharing more about the new direction that has emerged from this time of reflection. But December doesn’t feel like the moment for big announcements. This month feels gentler — more about taking stock than unveiling what’s next.
So today, I simply want to mark this quiet return.
To acknowledge the year that’s passed.
To honour the lessons it carried.
And to step forward with intention, clarity, and hope.
Wishing you a peaceful end to the year, wherever it finds you.
